  • In the 2008 Point in Time Count, the N.C. Interagency Council for coordinating Homeless Programs reported 12,371 people identified as homeless with 4206 self-identifying themselves having a substance abuse disorder.

  • Nationally, approximately 3.5 million people are homeless, of which 1.35 million are children in a given year. (National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, 2007)

  • The cost of Hope Haven is $66 per day and the cost of incarceration is $112 per day... Treatment is cost effective and saves Mecklenburg County money

  • The cost of addiction in 2004 in NC was estimated to be $13,119,222,422. according to the National Office of Drug Control Policy!!!

  • 100% of residents who entered the ServSafe® training course successfully completed with 77% gaining certification through the National Restaurant Association.

  • 80% of residents completed on-site workforce vocational training and became employed.

  • 90% of children demonstrate steady progress in school after being at Hope Haven.

  • Hope Haven provides a supportive residential enviornment for individuals and families living with many co-occurring diseases and disabilities, all of whom were homeless.

  • State & Internationally certified Substance Abuse Counselors

  • Hope Haven’s families program keeps families intact and decreases the number of kids in the Foster Care system and the cycle of addiction in families.

  • Seven Hope Haven graduates have successfully built Habitat Homes over the past two years.
